Sunfire GT Iperformance Header Dyno Tests
TEN PEAK HORSEPOWER FROM JUST A HEADER!
We have read the magazines and the many dyno tested performance buildup
articles, and have seen the pattern that ten to twelve horsepower is what can
be realistically expected from a combination of intake, cat back exhaust, and
header, and always spotty power improvement. We never expected one of our own
customers to tell us how much we were underestimating the performance of our
own products, and provide dyno charts to prove it.
Elias Fernandez took it upon himself to test our Iperformance Header for the
1996-2002 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 and Pontiac Sunfire on his 1996 Pontiac
Sunfire GT with four speed automatic transmission.
Elias paid for the Dynojet Dynomometer testing himself, out of his own
pocket, and was so excited with the results, that he telephoned us the
Saturday morning of April 28, 2001, just after he completed the testing, to
tell us how excited he was with the fitment and performance of our header. He
commented that the header made significant and very noticeable power increase
across the entire power band. He added that his mechanic had stated that he
had never seen such a large increase in power in bolting on just a header in
any other four cylinder car he had worked on.

Once we received copies of the before and after dyno charts from Elias, we
fully understood his excitement, as the charts clearly show a increase of
more than ten horsepower and a more than ten ft-lb, and increase in power
across the entire RPM range of the engine measured at the drive wheels with
the addition of only the Iperformance. None of the spotty power increases
were seen on the results (as were seen in the many magazine dyno writeups of
other products), and the results more resembled the before and after charts
of a supercharger install than of a header install on a naturally aspirated
four cylinder engine.

What more can we really say, our customer has proven to us that the it is
possible to get more than ten horsepower from just a header, our Iperformance
header, in fact our product posted peak gains of eleven horsepower from
4,800-5,000 RPM and eleven or more horsepower from 5,800-6,300 RPM, and twelve horsepower at 6,000-6,100 RPM and again at 6,300 RPM, not to
mention a peak gain of 17 ft-lb of torque at 6,200-6,300 RPM. No
manufacturer could possibly have more independently obtained or more unbiased
testing of their product as to have a customer pay for the testing and report
the results back to that manufacturer, and we are confident we can now say
that there is no better performing header for 1996-2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
Z24 or Pontiac Sunfire GT from any other manufacturer.
